April 8th

I met with the adoption agency again and covered the last remaining topics in the personal interview portion of the qualification process.  We discussed my views on religion, discipline, and a few other topics that came to mind surrounding those things.  I can’t say with certainty, but I do feel pretty good because the last thing she said to me as I was walking out was, “You’re a good man Deron, a really good man.”

The next step is the home study.  We haven’t scheduled it yet, but it won’t be far in the future.

I told a fraternity brother about our intention to adopt yesterday evening on the phone and he must have said “Wow” fifty times.  I honestly don’t think I could have come up with a more surprising thing to tell old friends.

So, Flounder, you’re welcome to come down and visit any time you like, but you may have to contend with a small child, a second cat …..and incessant banjo music. (he joked that every other person down here plays the banjo)
